პროფ. შანდორ ბენიცკი

Sándor Beniczky was born in 1971 in Romania. He received his M.D. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Szeged, Hungary (in 1997 and in 2004). Dr. Beniczky completed the training in neurology in Hungary, and the training in clinical neurophysiology in Denmark.   He is board-certified in these specialties in both Hungary and Denmark.  Dr. Beniczky completed the curriculum of the European Epilepsy Academy (EUREPA) and received the certificate in epileptology in 2010.

His current  positions are at the Danish Epilepsy Centre (head of the Clinical Neurophysiology department) and Aarhus University (associate professor).

Dr. Beniczky has been board-member of the Danish Epilepsy Society since 2010 (re-elected in 2012). He has been actively involved in the educational activities of the ILAE. Currently he is co-director of two on-line ILAE courses (VIREPA) and he is the course director of the Dianalund Summer School on EEG and epilepsy, supported both by ILAE-CEA and the European Chapter of the International Federation of Clinical Neurophysiology (EC-IFCN).

Dr. Beniczky is leading the SCORE  consortium (Standardised Computer-based Organised Reporting of EEG), a task-force on development of software for assessment and reporting of EEG in clinical practice. This initiative was supported both by  ILAE-CEA and EC-IFCN.

The main research interest of Dr. Beniczky is EEG and epilepsy. He has supervised two Ph.D. students and currently is the supervisor of two Ph.D. students. He is author  of 42 peer-reviewed publications and six book chapters.

Dr. Beniczky is married, and has two children.
